What about "The Dark Knight"?
That's perhaps the question of director Christopher Nolan and the cast of the mega hit of 2008. It's an Oscar contender but after not being nominated at the Golden Globes and getting another blow at this years BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Awards), is there still a chance for it to get an Oscar nom for best picture?
"The Dark Knight" received nine nominations at this year's BAFTA but snubbed for Best Film and Best Director for Nolan. Heath Ledger again picks up a nomination for his role as the Joker.
Vying for Best Film are "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", "Frost/Nixon", "Milk", "The Reader" and "Slumdog Millionaire".
In the lead actor category, Leonardo Dicaprio in "Revolutionary Road" is again missing (like in SAG Awards). Competing for the title are Frank Langella in "Frost/Nixon", Dev Patel in "Slumdog Millionaire", Sean Penn in "Milk", Brad Pitt in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and Mickey Rourke in "The Wrestler".
Hopefully, this would be Kate Winslet's Oscar year. After winning two Golden Globes, she earns two Best Lead Actress nominations for "Revolutionary Road" and "The Reader". Also nominated are Angelina Jolie in "Changeling", Kristin Scott Thomas in "I've Loved You So Long" and Meryl Streep in "Doubt".

Winners will be presented on February 8 (9 PH).
