
There's nothing much to say. As expected there were a lot of surprises with the list of nominees this year. Most of them are first timers but they can't disregard Grammy favorites like Coldplay, Kanye West and former Beatles member, Paul McCartney.
Nominees were announced in a live concert at the Nokia Theater. (Check out the ticket prices here.)
Rapper Lil Wayne tops the nomination list with eight. British band, Coldplay has seven nominations while Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West get six each.
Pop-classic singer, Josh Groban gets his second Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for his Christmas album, Noel, which was the best-selling album of 2007.
American Idol alum, Jennifer Hudson earns her first Grammy nominations this year:
"Jennifer Hudson", Best R&B Album
"Spotlight", Best R&B Song
"Spotlight", Best Female R&B Vocal Performance
"I'm His Only Woman" (ft. Fantasia), Best R&B Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocals
Young R&B singer, Chris Brown gets two nominations:
"No Air" (with Jordin Sparks), Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals
"Take You Down", Best Male R&B Vocal Performance
